Fair Usage Policy
Understanding "unlimited" and usage limits for AI Vid Summary
Last Updated: November 14, 2025
What This Policy Covers
This Fair Usage Policy defines the limits and acceptable use of our "unlimited" plans (Pro, Premium, Ultimate). By subscribing, you agree to these usage terms. These limits ensure fair access and service quality for all users.
1. What "Unlimited" Actually Means
Our Pro, Premium, and Ultimate plans advertise "unlimited summaries." This means generous usage for typical personal and business purposes within our fair use limits.
"Unlimited" does NOT mean infinite or unrestricted usage. We impose reasonable limits to:
- • Prevent abuse and exploitation
- • Control AI processing costs
- • Ensure service quality for all users
- • Protect against commercial reselling
2. Usage Limits
These limits apply to ALL paid plans: Pro, Premium, and Ultimate. Exceeding these limits may result in rate limiting, account review, or suspension.
Why These Limits?
Each video summary costs us between $0.02-$0.10 in AI processing fees (depending on video length and model used). At 100 videos/day, a user could generate $60-300/month in costs on a $12-39/month subscription. These limits balance generous access with sustainable operations.
How Limits Are Enforced
- Daily Limit: Resets at midnight UTC each day
- Monthly Limit: Resets on your billing date each month
- Tracking: Limits apply per account (not per device)
- Grace Period: First-time overage gets a warning email
3. Normal vs. Excessive Usage
Normal Usage Examples
- Students: 5-30 videos/day for coursework
- Professionals: 10-50 videos/day for research
- Content Creators: 20-60 videos/day for analysis
- Educators: 15-40 videos/day for lessons
- Teams (5 people): 50-80 videos/day shared
Excessive Usage Examples
- Automated scraping: Bot usage 24/7
- Commercial reselling: Selling summaries to others
- Bulk processing: 100+ videos/day consistently
- Data mining: Scraping for competing service
- Account sharing: Multiple people using one account
4. Allowed vs. Prohibited Uses
Allowed Uses
- • Personal learning and education
- • Business research and analysis
- • Team collaboration (within group plan limits)
- • Content creation and review
- • Academic research and coursework
- • Professional development
Prohibited Uses
- • Reselling: Selling summaries or API access to third parties
- • Automation: Using bots or scripts without permission
- • Competing Services: Building a rival summarization product
- • Account Sharing: Sharing login credentials with multiple users
- • Illegal Content: Processing copyrighted or illegal videos
- • Data Scraping: Extracting data for commercial databases
5. What Happens When You Exceed Limits
We take a progressive enforcement approach:
6. Need Higher Limits? Enterprise Plans
If you legitimately need more than 100 videos/day or 1,500/month, we offer custom Enterprise plans with:
- • Higher limits: Up to 5,000+ videos/month
- • API access: Programmatic integration
- • Priority support: Dedicated account manager
- • Custom pricing: Volume discounts
- • SLA guarantees: 99.9% uptime commitment
7. How We Monitor Usage
To enforce fair usage, we automatically track:
- • Video summaries per day/month: Counts toward your limits
- • API call patterns: Detects automation/bots
- • Concurrent usage: Flags account sharing
- • Resource consumption: AI processing costs
Privacy Note: We do NOT monitor video content, only usage metrics. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Free Tier Limits (For Reference)
For comparison, our Free tier has different limits:
- • 3 videos/day (IP-based tracking)
- • +3 bonus videos with email signup (one-time)
- • No monthly carryover
- • Basic features only
Free tier limits are separate from paid plan fair usage policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Fair Usage Policy to reflect service improvements or cost changes. Material changes will be communicated via email 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitute acceptance. Current limits are guaranteed for your subscription period unless you violate terms.
